THE RAIN!

 WE've had quite a bit of rain the past while.

We need it so desperately!

So, it is great to see the rain!

And, I am thankful.

From Past Years....

 

One day I ordered some cards from Amazon and would randomly send them to people.  Now, I make my own, but I just wanted a memory of these cards that were sent.  I wanted ro remember that occasionally I try to do something good.

HOW CAN IT BE POSSIBLE?

 I keep gaining weight.

I have totally quit snacking between meals.

Have cut out sugar.

Try to eat smaller meals.

And, yet, I AM GAINING WEIGHT.

It's very discouraging.

Friday Adventures

First we drove out to Dinosaur Monument....the keys are to show the size of the dinosaur print.

It was so interesting....these prints were only discovered in 1982, so that's fairly recently.  

Then, at night we went to see the Drowsy Chaperone...Eli joined us; late but he came.

This was the third time I've seen the play; I've loved it, but the version last night was quite crude and left Allen and me shaking our heads.  NO wonder kids get mixed up about gender identity and bad stuff going on.  It was very disappointing.  

 

Maybe....

 ...it's all in my head.

I keep having bad stomach pains.

Is it just in my head?  I've had so many tests, so many doc visits; nothing changes.

Must be in my head.

Also, I can't lose weight.

I just must be very sick in the head.

Learning From Amazing women

 They are all around us.  Amazing women.  And, it's so fun to learn their stories.  

Yesterday, I ate lunch with Brenda Spillane. She is a widow who lives with her daughter and son-in-law; she has 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls.  They are all impressive.  But, she had a very challenging life.  Two bankruptcies, multiple moves, not a lot of money, but through it all, she maintained her indomitable spirit and faith.  

She's a very strong faithful woman.  

And, I was so inspired.  How do women get to be so strong, in the face of adversity?!?!?!?!?

And, I complain over a friendship gone awry, which is still so painful for me.

But, I enjoyed talking with Brenda and learning a portion of her story.
