DC loves people; she loves being with people, with her grandchildren, her friends, her kids; in fact, she is rarely without anyone around. Her best friend moved away last week, and she is practically inconsolable. She NEEDS people, and people love being with her. She is witty, interesting, talkative, given to telling stories of her and her family.
KL, on the other hand, likes being alone. Although she enjoys her family and friends, she also really likes being alone. She is not a weird loner, but a person who enjoys and appreciates solitude. It gives her time for her hobbies, reflection, peace. She is a quiet listener.
Both interesting and unique women; just different styles.
And, it works for them.

Connections
Whenever RAH and I travel, we like to attend church.
And, almost always, we make some sort of connection to: Rexburg, St. George, former friends or students, relatives, etc.
It's one of the fun things about traveling and going to church.
In a ward in Harlem, New York, RAH met a former student; in a hotel church meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia, my former childhood babysitter was on a tour; entering a church in Ridgeland, South Carolina, my visiting teacher from St George happened to be visiting that same ward. There are many, many more. These are just a few examples.....
I'm always thrilled about such meetings and I'm sure everyone makes these same connections when they travel.
But, in addition to that, I love meeting with the Saints; their lessons, their talks, their life experiences are all marvelous to be a part of.
Oh, yes, the connections are good, but I realize that it's all part of an even larger connection to what Heaven will be like.
So, I better straighten up and do better!

Homesick!
We have been away from home for exactly two weeks.
And, I'm very homesick.
I'm like a little child; I want to go home.
Alas, we cannot...
FOR TWO MORE WEEKS.
Drats!

Love is Blind
It is so true.
When a person is in love, they don't see what others see as very obvious.
All the little warning signs that are poking out for the world to see.
And, when you mention a few of those potential areas of concern, the person in love shrugs it off: they see or find no fault.
So, I'm advocating for arranged marriages.
Friends and Family know best.
The person in love is in no mental frame of mind to select a person truly worthy of him/her.
So, I say,
BRING BACK
A.R.R.A.N.G.E.D. M.A.R.R.I.A.G.E.S.
Oh, yes; that's a very good solution....
at least in my opinion.

Learning From the Childrem
Wow! His explanation and insight left me in awe.
I was listening to our son explain his views on several topics. It was thrilling beyond words to hear his profound, insightful razor sharp mind share perspectives on interesting and timely subjects.
I realized that often the child becomes the parent.
And that is just fine with me!
